NLBM 2022 - Day 03
Today we spent the entire day on Interstates - first on I-90 and then
I-94. The temperature was very comfortable until shortly after our
first gas stop at around 11:00 and then it started to get hot again. We
didn't hit the max we have seen on this trip of 103 but we did hit 101.
We
stopped for lunch at Pompey's Pillar National Monument. We had never
heard heard of Pompey's Pillar but if you are the least bit interested here's
a link to the NPS website.
Although we keep track of the National Parks we have visited, we never
tried to count the National Monuments since there are literally hudreds
of them. Pompey's Pillar actually fits in with the Lewis and Clark
expedition. Everywhere you go in this part of the country are signs signifying
that Lewis and Clark were here as well as countless museums.
We
ended up at a very nice Sleep Inn in Miles City and have decded that we
really need to up our game relative to hotels. I think last night as
the final blow.
Tomorrow it's off to Mandan and Mike and Karin's place.
