After we finished a less than memorable breakfast at the Baymont in Billings, Linda had an interesting conversation with the woman who checked us out.

Receptionist: Did you enjoy your stay?
Linda: It was just okay.
Receptionist: Is there anything we can do to improve?
Linda: I don't even know where to start.
Receptionist: Enough said, enjoy your day.

We then headed out for Missoula which ended up being a relatively uninteresting drive. We did see two speed traps but we seldom drive faster than the speed limit so it wasn't a concern for us. In fact, on freeways like I90, we frequently drive slower. With those big side fenders sticking out of the trike, driving faster just means having to stop much more often for gas which is a pain.

It was comfortably cool in the morning but got quite hot after lunch and as the afternoon progressed. We were in smoke all day although we couldn't really smell it until this afternoon. At one point it got so dark up ahead that we weren't sure if it was smoke or rain. It was definitely smoke but we actually got a few drops as we were leaving the rest stop where we ate our lunch - but very few drops, not enough to cool things down.

We arrived at our destination around 3:45, checked in and relaxed in the pool. We even hit the hot tub after dinner. Very relaxing.

Tomorrow it's off to Moses Lake and, unlike the last week and a half, it looks like the weather is about to change. Should be cool tomorrow with rain in the afternoon.
