We're almost home and both of us are ready to get there. Today was mostly uneventful. When we started out this morning the lady in my phone said to get on I-84 West and go 483 miles or there abouts - and we did that. The stretch from Tremonton to Burley, ID is pretty ugly and, besides that, we have done this stretch numerous times. The traffic wasn't too bad until we got near Boise and then it was very heavy. In fact we had about a two mile stretch of stop and go because there had been an accident earlier. That's probably not too bad for almost 4000 miles so far.

We had a lot of smoke this afternoon and saw lots of black patches from burned out brush fires. We actually saw one of the fires around 4:00 this afternoon and Linda managed to get a shot of it.

The two common threads throughout this trip is that there is a lot of road construction. We saw dozens of "Road Work Ahead" signs in every state. Fortunately there were no backups, it just meant we would have to slow down for 10 or 15 miles and generally it was like 75 to 65 - no big deal. The second thread is that everyone is hiring. Every restaurant had signs up and some were closed or opening limited hours. There were also signs at every gas station/convenience store and most of the semis had signs advertising for drivers. There appears to be no lack of work for someone who wants to work.

We had a nice dinner and a soak in the hot tub tonight and we head for home tomorrow.
