Well we must be half way through our trip today because we turned and started heading back north. We didn't bother going to the border - it was only about 40 miles but it just didn't look like there was much to see.

This was not our most interesting day on the bike. The most interesting thing we saw this morning was this unique cactus. It's kind of bushy but looks like a small tree growing out of it. Here's another picture of one.

The roads were fairly straight except for a section where we climbed to a little over 8000'. But there was no traffic, the weather was just about perfect, and we just sat back enjoyed the ride.

After lunch the roads were still empty and fairly straight but the scenery was a little different. Here's another shot of the afternoon.

We are staying in Holbrook for the night and we must be suffering national landmark withdrawl so we are heading for the Petrified Forest National Park in the morning after which we will head towards St. George Utah, another city where we think we might want to spend some time in the winter.
