Utah Parks 2026 Day03
It looks like I messed up somehow. Linda took pictures and they
are on the page for today's trip. If you click on a marker on the map,
you will see the picture taken at that spot. Unfortunately some of the
pictures that are labeled for Highway 6 are actually Highway 191 -
that's on me. Also unfortunately, if you use the drop down list, you
don't get the correct picture for that title. I'm not sure why that
happened. It looks like the software I use sorted the list
alphabetically but didn't change the references. It seems like it's
something I may have dealt with previously but I don't remember what I
did to fix it - this will take some time.
It was cool when
we left this morning but, by the time we got to the Utah border, it was
starting to warm up. By the time we left I15 it was pretty hot and on
Route 6 it got to be very hot. There doesn't seem to be much in between
and it looks like it may stay hot for the next couple of days at least
- fortunately no rain in the forecast.
Utah had an
HOV/Express lane in the Salt lake City area that must have stretched
for 40 miles at least. Because we were on a motorcycle and there were
two of us the lane was free. That helped because there was a fair
amount of traffic in that area as there always is.
Routes 6
and 191 were a pleasant surprise as they were very nice rides. The only
problem was there were no signs suggesting limited services and we
didn't start out with much of a tank. It turns out there was one gas
station for a 60 mile stretch and they were charging $5.99 a gallon.
Certainly taking advantage of the situation but we didn't have much
choice. It was a valuable lesson.
Tomorrow it's off to Arches National Park and apparently very hot
temperatures.
