2019 Trip - Day 03
Today was a great ride. Although we have ridden the Going to the Sun
Road in Glacier National Park numerous times it always amazes and
impresses us. Linda made an exception today and took quite a few
pictures which should show up on the map if I do everything correctly.
The last time we took this route there were fires all around and we
could see and smell smoke the whole way. This time the skies were
reasonably clear and, although we got a few rain drops, it was not
enough to really get us wet.
The
one thing that seemed different was that all of the parking lots were
packed. We had to drive around most of them several times to find a
space. The exception was at Logan's Pass where there are specific
motorcycle spots that cars can't fit into. They even have shuttle buses
now to drive people around. We have seen and ridden these at a number
of other parks but this is the first time we have seen them at Glacier.
Despite all of the people the roads were not bad. We had no backups or
delays and often had no cars in front of or behind us.
We
have seen a lot of motorcyles this trip and more trikes than we have
ever seen before. I guess more bikers are ageing and not ready to give
up their sport.
After leaving the park we rode to Shelby, MT where we spent the night.
