Route Map:
As we were preparing to leave this morning, we ran into a couple from Milwaukee who were staying at the same motel. He was a motorcycle cop from Milwaukee and they were on a 2010 Goldwing. His normal cop bike is a Harley but he definitely preferred the Goldwing. Although it was a 2010, he already had 22,000 miles on it. You meet some really nice people traveling this way. We've thought about upgrading to an 1800 Goldwing but haven't convinced ourself of the necessity. Our 1500 runs great, with only 83,000 miles is just getting broken in, and we have everything just the way we want it.
Today was a relatively short, easy day. We left about 9:00 AM and arrived at Linda's folks at 3:30 this afternoon. Except for a few spots where we ran into groups of trucks that slowed things down as they attempted to pass each other, the traffic was relatively light and the temperatures were comfortable. It's not too bad where there are three lanes but, when there are only two lanes, and two closely matched trucks attempt to pass, it gets messy.
We haven't decided on a route home next week but will definitely be influenced by temperature and rain forecasts ass well As truck density. We have thought about I-80 but Linda thinks this may be a major truck route. We'll see.
If anything, the camera seems to be getting worse. There may be limited or no pictures next week. We don't plan on posting again until Monday night.
