Route Map:

Today worked out great. The Honda dealer in Menominee opened at 9:00 AM and we were at the service door at 9:10. We drove out of the lot at 10:35 with a brand new front tire, an oil change, and a bill for $262. That's not bad when the tire itself was $174. That may seem like a lot for a tire but when 2 tires is all you have between you and the road at 70 miles per hour, you want very good tires.

The weather was nice when we got up this morning but within 5 minutes after we left the Honda dealer we had to stop and put on rain gear. It ended up raining on and off the rest of the morning. This was mostly just a 'getting there' day so there wasn't too much to see or take pictures of along the way.

After lunch we were able to take the rain gear off and leave it off the rest of the day. We knew when we crossed into Illinois because we began to see the signs instructing you where to pay the tolls. We also ran into more construction here than probably anywhere else on the trip so far. There was a multiple car accident going North and the cars going that direction were backed up 8 - 10 miles and getting worse every minute - welcome to civilization.

We arrived in Naperville in time for dinner and had a very enjoyable evening with Linda's folks.
